Codat expands its coverage to support SumUp!

The new integration will bring our total number of supported commerce data sources to 6

SumUp is a leading ePOS and eCommerce platform that enables small & medium-sized businesses to accept credit and debit card payments in-store, in-app, and online. The platform offers multiple readers as well as remote payment solutions such as invoices, gift cards, and payment links.

Our integration maps merchant data from the SumUp platform to Codat’s commerce data model and makes it available via a simple, developer-friendly API.

Coverage

Founded in 2012, SumUp now has over 2 million merchants using its platform globally, across 32 markets. The platform primarily targets businesses that are “considered too small for most providers”.

What data are we pulling?

You can use Codat’s API with SumUp to securely connect to, retrieve, and view your customers’ commerce transactions, including:

  • Company info – details of a linked company, such as their address, phone number, and company registration.
  • Disputes – details of all transactions that customers have challenged.
  • Orders – details of all orders received by a company, including payments, service charges, and refunds.
  • Payments – amounts reserved against the customer’s funding source.
  • Transactions – details of all financial transactions recorded in the system.

To gain a full understanding of exactly which data sets are available to pull, please visit our docs.

Who will stand to benefit?

Our SumUp integration can be used in isolation or alongside our other data sources to power a wide range of use cases. The integration can be used by Codat clients to validate other sources of mutable data such as accounting data.

It can be utilized by fintechs, lenders and insurers to bolster and streamline risk analysis and underwriting processes with a detailed view of a merchant’s sales performance direct from source.

The integration also offers an opportunity for clients looking to develop analytics features and process automations, such as financial planning and analysis tools, instant payout features, and auto reconciliation with accounting software.

What’s next?

We’ll continue to expand our commerce coverage by adding additional integrations, including Clover, PayPal, Amazon Marketplace, and BigCommerce, to our Core product. Visit our Product Roadmap for more information about our future plans or to request additional data types for existing integrations.
